In lieu of a salon and a pair of expertly trained hands to do your hair for you, we spoke to our Atelier experts on how to achieve the ultimate party hair, all from the comfort of your own home. Read on as they share super simple step by step tutorials.
First up your hair colour…
‘Great colour is where great party hair begins’, says Josh. An at-home hair gloss is a super simple, super speedy way to refresh your hair colour, delivering results that are so professional looking you wouldn’t believe they weren’t created in the salon.
Now your hair colour is sorted, it's time to decide on your hairstyle. We spoke to 5 of our Atelier experts, who shared their favourite looks for this holiday season.
The Perfect Ponytail
- Blow dry your hair to ensure it’s super smooth
- Part the hair down the middle and then from ear to ear
- Starting at the back of the head, work in 1-2 inch sections and saturate the roots with a wet volumizing spray, then comb the hair flat to the head
- Work to the top of the head and repeat around the hairline, making sure to comb any fly aways or baby hairs completely flat
- Take a brush and mould the hair into a ponytail, securing with an elastic
- Take a piece of hair from the base of the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic to hide it
- For a super sleek finish, straighten the ends of the ponytail
- Finish with a strong hairspray and shine spray
Mermaid Waves
- Tong the hair in sections using a waving tool, keeping the ends and roots straight
- For a festive flair clip in a coloured hair piece
- Adorn with an accessory to finish
Textured Pony
Super soft waves
- Start by blow drying the hair to remove any frizz
- Style the hair into a deep side parting and tong the hair in sections
- Brush the hair together and add a touch of sparkle with a festive hairpiece
- Finish off the look with a shine spray
Rope Braid
- Use a soft bristle brush to smooth out the ends of the hair and a dry texturising spray at the roots to give volume
- Secure the hair into a ponytail using an elastic
- Take a small piece of hair from underneath the ponytail and wrap around the elastic to hide it, secure with a grip
- Apply more dry texturising spray to ends of the hair
- Split the ponytail into 2 sections, twisting and wrapping the sections into a braid
- Secure the end of the braid and tweak out each section for a lived in finish
