Josh Wood Colour Met Gala 2026: Gwendoline Christie’s Milk Blonde and Romeo Beckham’s Refined Crop

The Met Gala 2026 red carpet delivered no shortage of standout beauty moments, but two looks in particular captured the shift towards polished, wearable glamour with a fashion-forward edge. From luminous “Milk Blonde” tones on Gwendoline Christie, created by Josh, to the refined texture of Romeo Beckham’s tailored crop, created by our Creative Master Stylist Pete Burkill, hair played a defining role in shaping the evening’s most memorable looks.
Gwendoline Christie Introduces “Milk Blonde”
For the Met Gala 2026, Gwendoline Christie debuted a new ultra-light blonde shade created by Josh.
Named Milk Blonde, the colour feels soft, luminous and effortless, a fresher take on blonde for the new season. Less icy, less over-toned and more light reflective, the shade was designed to complement the vivid colour of Christie’s gown while keeping the overall look modern and elevated.
“The palest of blondes, lifted to perfection, untoned, the most flattering hue for spring/summer skin tones,” said Josh/
The focus for the look was healthy-looking shine and condition. Blonde at this level works best when the hair feels glossy, hydrated and full of movement, especially under the intensity of red carpet lighting.
To create the high-shine finish, Josh Wood Colour Miracle Glossing Water added luminosity and gloss, while Josh Wood Colour Miracle Defence Mist helped protect the hair and maintain colour health during styling.

Romeo Beckham’s Modern Textured Crop
On the men’s grooming side, Romeo Beckham showcased a modern textured crop created by our Creative Master Stylist Pete Burkill.
The cut featured a micro fringe with softly broken texture through the edges, finished with a clean taper to keep the shape sharp and refined. The overall look felt polished but easy to wear, balancing texture with precision.
“The cut itself is a textured crop with a micro fringe, softly broken up through the perimeter, with a clean taper that keeps it elevated,” said Pete. “It’s not messy, it’s a controlled texture.”
Romeo’s natural colour was enhanced using a Josh Wood Colour Gloss in Chocolate, adding subtle richness and healthy-looking shine to the final result.
