Our permanent colours are free from Ammonia and PPD but they do contain an ingredient called toluene-2,5-diamine sulphate also known as PTD. 

PTD has a similar chemical structure to PPD and works in a similar way to activate the colouring pigments for permanent hair colour. There is some evidence to suggest that PTD causes fewer allergic reactions than PPD, but a small number of people can still experience a reaction to this ingredient and that is why it is very important to carry out an Allergy Alert Test 48 hours before using the product every time you colour your hair.
